Work Safely in Construction Industry (White Card)

Ensure your awareness of OHS legislative requirements, and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the building and construction industry:
Construction Induction training course (also known as the White Card or Red Card training) is a mandatory legal requirement for all persons involved in the construction industry.


Construction Induction training is required for:

  1. All persons who carry out construction work, including site managers and supervisors, surveyors, labourers and trades persons
  2. All persons who access operational construction zones unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person
  3. All persons whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: To receive a White Card, a person must attend a formal face-to-face training session. White cards obtain through online providers might not be accepted on some construction sites


Course Overview

Course: Work Safely in the Construction Industry CPCCOHS1001A

Construction Induction training covers Occupational Health and Safety related topics, such as OHS legislative requirements, Construction hazards and control measures, OHS communication and reporting processes and OHS incident response procedures.

White Card training course consists of Power Point presentation, class activities, videos and end of the day assessment.
Building Inspection Training Australia is accredited by Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver this training course.

Course Outcome

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

  • Statement of Attainment (which is issued on the end day of training and allows to start work immediately)
  • Construction Induction plastic card (which will be mailed)
